About

Hi, Welcome!

This is a personal page devoted to a deep exploration of the nature of reality, life, the universe, and our humanity. It reflects my relentless pursuit of truth and commitment to radical honesty, grounded in deeply held values of empathy and compassion.

BUT - this is Boxing with Mastodons. This is not Facebook or TikTok or Reddit. This is not an ego site where I try to impress you with how smart I am (I’m not).

The journey of capturing, exploring, developing, and expressing the ideas here hasn’t been easy. It has been HARD.

My journey in life has taken me to a place where I “go hard” in my quest for truth and clarity. Through the fear, as hard as I can. No limits, no niceties, way past the point of being polite. I try to write well and with clarity, but at the end of the day, polished writing isn’t the point either.

If a page made it here, it came after being brutalized. By Mastodons. This is not a friendly space (although some of the concepts here are beautiful and cherished).

I’m sure I don’t have everything right. I know I don’t. If you can show me more truth and more clarity, I will follow it.

But I will be brutal with any ideas that come my way. What survives stands … at least for now.

This isn’t easy. This is HARD. If you stick around and read, you will get pummeled, obliterated, destroyed. You will face profound dark nights of the soul. At least, that is what happened to me.

What we need is courage. The only way to beat Mastodons is to ALWAYS GET BACK UP and keep fighting.

Internalize it, understand it, clarify it. Reset your mind so the new framework is part of you. And then you get back up. And after a bit, those Mastodons will be behind you. Fighting for you.

This is my promise: until it kills me, I will take their shots. And then, when I am capable again, I will write it here as best I can. And then I’m back in the ring, going for more.

It’s not about love or beauty or tribal fealty. It’s not ultimately about hope, or grace, or light. It’s about courage and truth. Nietzsche had Will to Power. This is Will to Truth. (And what is truth? Correspondence with reality.)

Is it worth it? I don’t know. But it’s who I am. It’s what I do.

This is Boxing with Mastodons.

If nothing else, I hope these pages challenge your thinking and inspire you to dig deeper into your personal quest in life.

Best,

BWM

About the Name

Anonymity is a tool I chose for deeper and freer exploration. So when it came to the name, I wanted something apropos, memorable, and unique that also hints at my identity.
